Clifford McGrady started his working career in Newark, New Jersey, with New Jersey Bell. Mr. McGrady worked his way up from an entry-level job to the highest level technician, installing, repairing and maintaining the local telecommunication switching offices as a Central Office Technician. Until he moved to Georgia to continue his career with Southern Bell as a technician and BellSouth and AT&T as a Project Manager until he retired as a Platform Manager in 2008.
Clifford worked briefly, from 2009 to 2015, for the Paulding County School System as a substitute teacher and a Paraprofessional. In his roles in the school system he was able to passively impact the lives of many of his students, who still today, respectfully refer to him as, “Mr. Mac”.
In July of 2015, Clifford started working for the City of Hiram as the Code Enforcement Officer (CEO). Clifford established the Code Enforcement Unit, including the ticketing, fines, ordinances and the processes & procedures for the unit. He excelled in this position and in 2020, he was promoted to his present positon as the Zoning Administrator/Project Manager for the City of Hiram. Since his time with the City of Hiram, Clifford has built a solid relationship with his community with outreach events such as food giveaways, back to school events, ‘Music in the Park’, Faith and Blue, and a monthly gathering of elected officials, law enforcement agencies, community leaders and religious leaders, called the ‘All Faiths Collaborative’, (AFC).
