Allison received a Bachelor of Arts in History from North Georgia College (1993) and a Master’s degree in Historic Preservation from The University of Georgia (1998). She has been the Historic Preservation Planner with the River Valley Regional Commission since 2000. Her responsibilities include writing comprehensive plans, administering local ordinances for zoning and historic preservation, and writing and administering grant projects. She became a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners in 2005.
